Kenneth’s Hair Salons and Day Spas will host a benefit for The Make It Fit Foundation, a Central Ohio charity for autism awareness, on Nov. 2.
The Kenneth’s Beauty Benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its spa at 3610 Fishinger Blvd. in Hilliard.
During that period, Kenneth’s will donate income from salon and spa services to The Make It Fit Foundation. For $40, plus tax, men and women can enjoy a haircut, express pedicure or a crystal salt glow manicure. Women also can get an express facial and an express massage.
To participate in the Kenneth’s Beauty Benefit, appointments must be scheduled though the company call center at 614.538.5800.
The Make It Fit Foundation President Mike Hoover said proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase iPads for supply therapy facilities and schools specializing in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders. iPads, along with specialized autism apps, have been proven to help kids with autism learn to communicate, and even help some non-verbal children learn to speak.
“Kenneth’s believes in giving back to the community and we are very appreciative of the company’s support,” Hoover said. “By hosting this fundraiser, they are making a difference in the lives of individuals with autism.”
The Make It Fit Foundation raises funds for educational and therapy equipment, such as iPads, specialized camps for children with autism, therapy support, support of other autism organizations, and autism research at The Ohio State University.

What an amazing day we had at the zoo today! Thank you to all the families that came out to make today a truly special day. As we walked around the zoo, there were so many families sporting blue bracelets! Everyone who came was extremely grateful to be there and we appreciate that more than we can say. You guys are the reason we’re here, the reason we do what we do. The smiles you wore today are the driving force that makes everything we do worthwhile. Thank you, again, to everyone who came out to make today possible. We’re so blessed to be able to do this for families affected by autism, and we’re thankful that we have such an amazing opportunity to give back to the people who support us the most.
Check out pics from today’s amazing adventure.
